|Description:||Candidate will have responsibility for photovoltaic (PV) engineering deliverables. Will have technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, and executing assignments. Will have business responsibility for providing project deliverables on time and on budget with high quality. |
Candidtate will be responsible for multiple client interactions, including scoping, status reporting, and discussion and review of project deliverables.
Specifically, candidates need to have an understanding and working experience with PV power systems and components, including PV modules, racking and tracking systems, inverters, balance-of-system (AC and DC), transformers, switchgear, revenue metering, and data acquisition systems.
Design and engineering tasks to support commercial EPC projects, commercial EPC business development, and new product/vendor integration.
PV system design and design review; selection and specification of equipment and materials for PV projects.
Create CAD drawings of PV systems for proposal, design, and permit applications.
Interface with senior management, clients, and product manufacturers.
Conduct site assessment and support of project development efforts, including system energy modeling and energy estimates.
Communication with project managers who coordinate scheduling and permitting for system installation
Technology evaluation and risk assessment, technical report writing.
Utility interconnection and transmission evaluation.
Review of EPC, O&M, and performance guarantees.
Equipment commissioning and/or testing and travel to client and remote sites.
Most time will be spent in an office environment, but occasional site visits and surveys may be performed in new construction and existing buildings this typically includes attics, basements, and mechanical/electrical rooms.
Will be on job sites occasionally on roofs, climbing ladders, etc. Significant time spent on the phone and working on computer
Knowledge of construction practices including electrical, structural, and mechanical
Commercial PV design experience, especially electrical design
Experience with industry standard PV systems and energy modeling tools
Knowledge of National Electric Code and other model codes
Project management experience
Computer based drafting experience (AutoCAD)
Organized and detail oriented
Able to manage multiple project efforts, prioritize tasks and resources
Good written and spoken communications skills
PV installation experience
Experience with power flow analyses and power systems design
Experience with cost/benefit analysis
Experience with data monitoring and performance evaluation
Experience & Educational Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and 3 to 5 years relevant experience
Bachelors Degree in math or science and 7 years of relevant experience
Experience with Microsoft-based systems and software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Experience with computer-based energy performance modeling tools
Proficiency in AutoCAD, or equivalent
Demonstrated technical writing/communication skills
Desired License or Certifications:
EIT (Engineer in Training)
